NOT your little girls headboard!

I found a vintage, pink, vinyl, diamond-tufted, king-sized headboard and fell in love.

Love at first sight can have it's problems though. Pink headboards are probably best reserved for little girls.  Most little girls don't have king-sized beds.  Hmmmmm.

So, I paid a visit to my nearest auto parts store and picked up a can of spray paint.  Yep, paint made specifically for car interiors of the "pleather" variety.  I chose black.

The end result makes me want to grab an old motorcycle jacket and go for a ride!

I'm so happy with how it turned out!

  2. Oh my goodness, you transformed it into super classy!
    Great job girl!

  3. Wowzers That is seriously sexy Lori! Now I want to kick myself for passing up an ugly pleather chair a few weeks back. I could have painted it!!!

  4. Oh gosh...I never thought about getting spray paint from an auto parts store for upholstery. You are brilliant! That headboard is to die for and you are right - it makes you want to rev up the Harley. :)

  5. This looks amazing!!!!!!!! Can I have it please????? I forgot all about using Spray Paint from an Auto Part's store. I have a friend who does that and that stuff sticks like glue. This turned out soooooo good!
