Honestly Officer, I didn't even know my dresser would do 105!
The first time I saw this...
someone had pinned it with the comment "For the Billiards Room".
I was confused.
I was confused.
I guess when your husband drives this... (not during the winter)
you see that pretty piece of furniture a little differently. Vroom, vroom.
Here's the before. Not my style. (Lego books anyone? Not to mention an inch of dust!)
I painted it black satin and used an overhead projector to hand-paint the number dot and stripe. (Which, by the way, was A LOT more difficult to do than I would have guessed. My circle isn't perfect and my numbers are just crooked enough!)
Then, I painted the knobs to disguise them.
And Voila! Fun "Cobra Inspired" bombe race chest!
Fast enough for ya?
Sidenote: The chest that was my inspiration was originally pinned on Pinterest about 1 year ago. I wound my way backwards to try to find the original source, only to find that the photo had been uploaded with no source listed. If you happen to know it, please let me know!
That said; I'd love it if you'd follow my blog (in whatever method you prefer) GFC, Linky, by email, Facebook, or Pinterest (or all of the above)! Thanks - it really means a lot!!!!

Hi, Lori. You've done a wonderful job re-interpreting the inspiration piece. It's stunning!
ReplyDeleteI found the original photo on the U.K.-based Sweetpea & Willow's site: www.sweetpeaandwillow.com/numbers-up-bombe-chest
Your budget-friendly version is much more attainable than their "Numbers Up Bombe Chest" at £3,695.00!
Thanks! Yes, I located the original source (sorry, I updated the link on Pinterest, I should've added an update here as well!) and you're right, it's beautiful but expensive! ~Lori
ReplyDeleteAwesome! And that's not a word a throw around a lot ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your dresser! Wanted to let you know that I featured it on my blog today on Friday's Fabulous Furniture Finds!
ReplyDeleteBarbara @Chase the Star
I simply LOVE this. Bythewayjenngray.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteAny way we could buy this from you or commission you to paint another one? I'm not sure if you found the original, but it's from Sweetpea and Willow in the UK. My email is nikkidefeo@gmail.com if you're interested. Thanks!
